Welcome to friendly Eugene, Oregon!
Eugene is described as “a city so friendly it has a first name!” by the Chamber of Commerce. If excellent professional services, enjoyable climate, and artistic diversity are important to you, Eugene will exceed your expectations. You will find spectacular scenery, bike-pedestrian-only bridges which accommodate joggers, walkers, bikers and roller-bladers, as well as close proximity to the ocean and mountains. Eugene is also the seat of Lane County and home to the University of Oregon. All things unique are found here! If you are relocating, also consider the surrounding areas of Lane County: Coburg, Cottage Grove, Creswell, Florence, Junction City, Lowell, Oakridge, Springfield, Veneta and Westfir.
Lane County has numerous small communities ranging from the Cascade Mountains to the Oregon coast. The Eugene and Springfield areas have an excellent mixture of homes from historic in Coburg, Springfield, and Marcola, to new homes in the south hills. Construction styles which vary from homes predating Work War II and older mill homes to quality Victorian and upscale new homes present inspection challenges. Special consideration should be paid to radon in homes on rocky terrain or with slab foundations or basements. Quiet, country charm is found in the rural and farming/ranching communities that surround the Eugene/Springfield areas. Drinking water from wells and springs in these areas requires particular attention when inspecting. South/southeast Eugene has homes built in the Fifties through the Seventies on expansive clay soils which presents inspection challenges. You will also find natural wetlands that provide a diverse habitat for wildlife viewing and several beautiful community parks for family enjoyment.
Eugene offers a unique variety of real estate choices, activities and life styles. Welcome to the friendly city with a first name!
